3D Systems Expands Digital Denture Printing with New Shades

In dental laboratories and prosthodontic clinics adopting digital dentistry workflows, monolithic multi-material denture printing must combine esthetic accuracy, production efficiency, and material reliability. 3D Systems has expanded its NextDent Jetted Denture Solution by introducing three additional denture base shades—Dark Pink (DP), Light Pink (LP), and Red Pink (RP)—to complement the existing Light Tone (LT) option.

The expanded shade portfolio is designed to better replicate diverse natural gingival tones while maintaining the automated, multi-material 3D printing workflow that integrates denture base and teeth into a single printed component.

Expanded shade range for realistic gingival reproduction
With the addition of DP, LP, and RP shades, the total base offering increases to four options, covering lighter, deeper and ruddier gum tones. In denture prosthetics, gingival color matching directly affects esthetic acceptance and patient satisfaction.

The new materials are compatible with NextDent Jet Teeth White and Yellow shades, which allow digital color blending on the NextDent 300 printer. This combination enables controlled customization of tooth and base coloration within a single additive manufacturing process, supporting more personalized restorations without manual color layering.

Integrated multi-material monolithic printing
The NextDent Jetted Denture Solution remains the only commercially available platform designed to print base and teeth together as a single, monolithic, multi-material structure. By eliminating separate printing and manual assembly steps, the workflow reduces bonding interfaces and minimizes post-processing.

Integrated fabrication supports dimensional accuracy and structural consistency, while reducing risks associated with delamination or misalignment between base and tooth components. Fully cured parts are reported to be ready directly from the build plate, simplifying laboratory workflows.

Production efficiency and labor reduction
According to reported user data, the digital workflow can achieve up to 300% faster production compared with traditional analog denture fabrication methods. Manual labor requirements are reduced by more than 50%, primarily through elimination of waxing, flasking, packing and manual finishing steps associated with conventional processes.

In addition, laboratories report one-day turnaround times compared with approximately five days in traditional workflows. Shorter production cycles can increase case throughput and reduce inventory or remake delays.

Operational and material performance considerations
Laboratories using the platform cite consistent shade reproduction, stable material performance and improved end-product quality relative to traditional fabrication benchmarks. The fully digital workflow supports predictable repeatability across cases, which is critical in high-volume prosthetic production.

By combining automated multi-material printing with expanded shade flexibility, the solution addresses both esthetic customization and scalable production requirements in modern dental laboratories.

Market availability and industry presentation
The new NextDent Jet Base DP, LP and RP shades are scheduled for availability in the U.S. market in May 2026, with ordering beginning in late February 2026.

3D Systems will present the new materials at LMT Lab Day 2026, held February 19–21 in Chicago, Illinois (Booth A-43/B-42), where live demonstrations of the updated denture printing solution will be conducted as part of its broader dental additive manufacturing portfolio.
